Summer is busy!
Last month we told you all about working events from our perspective, but the summer is far from over and we want to see you at the rest of these upcoming festivities.
We all love a good beer, and a great beer fest. There are lots of events left for you to enjoy, or even participate in. Here is some info about upcoming events, how to find out about them, and how to get involved.
If an upcoming brew fest needs volunteers, this is a fun way to get involved in the community and experience what it’s like to effectively create a fun experience for visitors. It provides opportunities to meet brewery staff, get the ins and outs of your favorite beers, and if you’re lucky you may even get some freebies.
The best way to go about volunteering is to follow your favorite breweries on social media and keep tabs on local beer blogs. These will give you the inside scoop and provide links to volunteer sign ups. Or, the classic old school method, send an email to your favorite local breweries, City Weekly, and SLUG Mag -- let them know you’re interested! This way they’ll have your information on hand and they can reach out directly with upcoming volunteer opportunities.
July 24th
• Pie ‘n Beer Day is approaching quickly and it’s the perfect excuse to eat way too much pie and wash it down with Utah crafted brews. This event is the largest and oldest Pie & Beer day event to grace Utah. Find all the details on pricing and how to get your tickets here.
• This event is put together by KUAA, a community radio station (99.9 FM) which is a component of the Utah Arts Alliance. This event has not called for volunteers, but if you are interested in learning more about KUAA and what you can do for future events you can sign up here.
August 17th & 18th
• The annual Utah Beer Fest hosted by City Weekly is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year! This weekend event is packed full of more beer than you’ve ever seen in one Utah location, awesome food, and live music. Get your early bird tickets here.
• This event is still in need of volunteers for several different positions. Volunteers receive a “Brew Crew” t-shirt, a taster mug, 5 drink tokens to use at the festival, and an invite to the volunteer appreciation after party. Register here.
Wild Earth Pints for Purpose
• On September 1st (yes, it is a Sunday) we will be hosting a Pints for Purpose event to generate donations for the Wild Earth Market, a community conscious non-profit based in Utah. This event is open to the public, our parking lot will be fenced off and full of local Utah artists displaying and selling their pieces of art. High-point cans and draft beers will be available for purchase with a valid ID and 10% of all consumption proceeds will go directly to Wild Earth and their initiatives.
• We need a few volunteers for this event! If you are interested, please email Ashley, our Events Coordinator, at:
• Follow RoHa on Instagram or Facebook for upcoming events.
Fleet Beer Garden
• The pop-up events hosted by Little City in the Granary District are a fun and unique way to get out and socialize. These events host a different food truck and brewery almost every Saturday. The owners of Little City have opened shipping containers and converted them into small shops and a draft bar for beverage purchases. You can bring kids, pups, and eager taste buds for a night out. Corn hole, giant checkers, and other board games are provided for a fun family and friends gathering.
Blues, Brews, and BBQ
• Free concerts are happening every Sunday at Snowbasin now through September 8th. These are open to the public and host a different band each weekend. An array of Utah Craft Beers are available for purchase to enhance your concert experience including a few RoHa selections.
Both the Utah Beer Blog & Utah Beer News are excellent web resources to stay current on upcoming events, find opportunuties to volunteer, learn about what breweries in the area are up to, and nerd out on beer details.
Before this toasty summer comes to a close get out there and try some new beers, attend a new event, and support your local breweries. We look forward to celebrating summer with you.
